Estimates are typically valid for 14 days from the time of issue. All quotations are based on labour only, any parts are purchased by you, the customer. Any change to the scope of the work may result in the estimate being made invalid. Should this occur, an updated estimate will be issued to replace the original. Estimates are also subject to all works proceeding as planned in the scope of the works, any unforeseen changes to the scope of work, delays due to internet speeds at the residence of you, the customer causing delays to the works will attract extra cost above that given on any estimate and these costs shall be advised and agreed with you, the customer, giving you forward notice of increased cost and giving you the choice to stop any further works. All estimates are based on work being carried out within a 10 mile radius of Thatcham Centre. Excess mileage outside that radius is chargeable at 45 pence per mile and will be added as an extra line item on the invoice, this mileage will be agreed as part of the cost of scope of works.
Cancellation of Scheduled Work
If you need to cancel an appointment, URAM Domestic Technology Support request that at least 24 hours’ notice be given. Cancellation at short notice may incur a penalty charge, particularly if the technician is already en route. Rescheduling will take place at the next available time-slot for both parties. You may exercise your right, as a consumer, to cancel any appointment. We will not be responsible for any loss of data, information or records. We do not have specific knowledge of your computer or devices or their configuration. Whilst we will use our best efforts to minimise disruption to your computer or devices, we cannot be responsible for any unforeseen consequences of our services. Our services may affect manufacturer warranty validity. It is your responsibility to assess the effect of our services on any manufacturer's warranty and take appropriate action. We cannot be responsible or liable to you in relation to any service regarding any loss or corruption of data, information or records; any loss of goodwill, or any loss of (or interruption to) business or contracts; any failure by you to follow our reasonable advice, recommendations or instructions; any losses you may suffer arising from your use of (or failure to use) any anti‐virus software; and any loss that is not reasonably foreseeable. URAM Domestic Technology Support accepts no liability in respect of any problem(s) we are unable to remedy due to any factors beyond our control. These include (but are not limited to) the specification, age, or condition of your hardware, devices or software, failure to provide appropriate software licenses, discs, drivers or any issues with your Internet Connection.
Work carried out by 3rd Parties
URAM Domestic Technology Support accepts no liability in respect of any problem(s) caused by non‐URAM Domestic Technology Support approved technicians working on your devices. We request that before any other parties are given access to your devices that we are informed, so that we can provide relevant guidance and information to them, or can monitor, coordinate and restrict their access. This is to avoid actions that may damage your system or cause disruption.
Services provided by URAM Domestic Technology Support
Where URAM Domestic Technology Support are providing a resold service with a trusted partner, we are not responsible for any disruption to this service. We can assist in resolving issues and liaise with their support team. There will be a support charge incurred at our standard hourly rate for this assistance.
In the first instance, we recommend that you raise the issue with us first and we will advise whether the issue is best resolved by URAM Domestic Technology Support or by the service provider’s own support team.
Confidentiality and Privacy
Hardware installations and upgrades
You are advised that due to the nature of the work, there is always some risk when working on upgrading PC hardware (testing and upgrading can stress components). We work following best practices to avoid placing any unnecessary risk to your hardware. URAM Domestic Technology Support are not liable for any further faults (or unreported faults) that arise during the period that the hardware is being worked on.
Return Visit and Complaints Policy
In the event of any dissatisfaction with the service provided by URAM Domestic Technology Support, please contact us in writing, within 7 days of completion, to discuss the issues encountered. Within the scope of the originally agreed work, URAM Domestic Technology Support will always endeavour to come to a mutually satisfactory outcome in the event of any dissatisfaction with any service provided as customer service is our number one consideration.
The warranty period for our services is 7 days. Issues raised outside of this period are subject to charge. For issues unrelated to our work completed or outside the scope of the agreed work, URAM Domestic Technology Support is not responsible and additional work will be chargeable. It is vital that you fully test and confirm any solution or work we perform upon completion and confirm the work as completed. By signing the invoice with the engineer present, you are agreeing that the work has been carried out to your full satisfaction and thereby waiving your right to any kind of refund.
